General Description: The Pennsylvania Statewide Independent Living Council (PA SILC), a nationally recognized leader in IL, is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director. This is a full-time, exempt position, based in Harrisburg, PA, with a salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 with paid healthcare insurance and generous paid time off. The PA SILC Executive Director serves as chief executive administrator of all 501(C)(3) corporate operations, including implementation and administration of contracts, planning, programs, and policies. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and oversight of finances, personnel, funding, day to day operations, implementation of Board policies, writing of and adherence to the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL), government and community relations, and all activities to promote the PA SILC’s mission and purpose according to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended and Act 139-94. The Executive Director will be a visionary leader in public policy development and implementation.
Requirements: The successful applicant will hold a BA/BS degree in a related field, and a minimum of three years experience in administration, management and supervision. Knowledge of and commitment to the Independent Living philosophy is essential. Clear communication skills are required. Applicant must be able to travel to other areas of Pennsylvania and out of state as needed.
