Housing

Housing issues are likely the most critical issues facing the disability community today. We have been fighting for decades for the right to leave institutions and live in Pennsylvania neighborhoods that is accessible to everyone. However, we have not kept the same focus on ensuring that affordable and accessible homes await us.

The lack of housing is a crisis. The PA SILC Board and the Housing Committee have identified housing policy issues that need to be addressed. On some housing issues the PA SILC is take the lead and on issues it is partner with housing entities with similar goals.

Below is more information about the goals and objectives of the PA SILC Housing Committee.
