The Pennsylvania Statewide Independent Living Council (PA SILC) is seeking qualified candidates to fill open positions on the governing board.  Each position will be appointed by the Governor to fill a three-year term with the possibility of re-appointment.

The PA SILC, pursuant to the Rehabilitation Act of 1968, as amended and Pennsylvania Act 139 of 1994, is seeking diverse persons with disabilities. An emphasis will be placed on potential members with

mental, cognitive, hearing or visual disabilities. The PA SILC is seeking candidates from the following underrepresented areas of the state: southwest and north central.

Requirements include state residency, being a person with disability, working knowledge of Centers for Independent Living (CILs) and independent living and the ability to commit to reimbursed quarterly meetings in Harrisburg along with ad hoc teleconferences.  Experience with Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) and resource development is considered a plus.
